Just as the 2021-22 winter snowboard season began really get going in Colorado, a couple of pro cyclist friends reached out to me to ask for help with an event they were starting. They were planning a big new bike race in the Rocky Mountains. They had a “vision” for their logo that was to “put ram’s horns on something cycling related.”

I began to sketch and came up with a few drafts… which is typically how I work when creating a logo. My 1st few tries were close, but didn’t quite hit the mark. Fourth try hit the mark.

Next steps were to create the branding aesthetic. After talking to the founders for a bit, we honed in on their preferences and I began to design marketing assets and event collateral.

The event was a huge success – and sold out in it’s 1st year with zero advertising budget. Purely based on effective branding and word of mouth (digital + physical).
